Gilmore Girls was on the WB and CW networks for seven seasons, covering 154 episodes of the show. In the final episode of season seven, called Bon Voyage, the main characters are still left in a bit of a lurch, and though it can be assumed where the main characters might end up in the end, nothing final takes place on screen to really bring closure to the show.
The final season of 'Gilmore Girls' is truly a sad moment for everyone at The CW and Warner Bros. This series helped define a network and created a fantastic, storybook world featuring some of television's most memorable, lovable characters. "Gilmore Girls" is about happiness and things working out for the better. The finale, while delivering on our hopes to have "Lorelai" and "Luke" together gave us no payoff. We see them kiss and that is it.
Gilmore Girls will always have a very special place in my heart but it's sad but true to say that it feels like it's going through the motions at this point and I'd much rather see Bledel, Graham, and the entire GG cast go onto newer and better things than languish for another, protracted season. The season 8 is also posiible for fans.
We thank Amy Sherman-Palladino, Dan Palladino, Dave Rosenthal, the amazing cast led by Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel as well as the producers, writers and crew for giving us this delightful gem for the past seven years. We would also like to thank the critics and 'Gilmore' fans for their passionate support and promise to give this series the send off it deserves."
It was nice to see Emily, Lorelai, and Rory having a pleasant time watching a movie and eating junk food together in the hotel at the end. I know their relationship isn't perfect, no one's is, but it is always refreshing to have the glimpses of happiness.
Personally, I think it's time for Gilmore Girls to take a bow and exeunt stage left at this point. They started out as a little tiny show on a little tiny network on Thursday nights and no one initially gave a thought to the fact that it could even make it past one season, let alone seven.
I think this last chunk of storylines is going to be really dependent on whether it's a series finale or a season finale, so I think that everything is kind of up in the air as far as those last moments are concerned and that kind of has to do with all the characters, if they're going to take them through another season, or if they're going to try and wrap this all up.
With the show gone and cast members moving on to different projects, many fans felt how the show could be continued if its creator and cast wanted to continue. While rumors of a Gilmore Girls movie has been blurted out, fan sites are starting to report many rumors about a new season for Gilmore Girls and a Gilmore Girls feature film. But I would like to keep such ending of the show. It's better for me. In order to keep the wonderful memory, I would like to buy all the DVDs on discountdvdsets18 and I think it's a good wat to cherish your precious thing.
